Shaun Pinchbeck is a partner of the firm and also head of our Commercial Department. Shaun has 28 years experience and is our specialist in representing and advising employers on all aspects of employment law. He has an outstanding reputation in the Yorkshire region.
Changes in employment legislation for disciplinary and grievance procedures and age discrimination means that it is essential for employers to review their practices and procedures.
Employment issues can escalate very quickly and it is important to undertake the correct procedures from the very beginning of a dispute, to reduce the risk of a costly employment tribunal.
There are other areas such as equal opportunities, sickness and stress management where careful consideration to suitable policies can be a great help in managing staff and protecting against the risk of a claim. Given that the maximum compensation for an unfair dismissal claim is over £70,000 and there is no limit on compensation for discrimination claims, employers would be sensible to protect themselves against employment law claims. We are also able to arrange employment protection insurance for businesses.
Shaun can ensure all your procedures are within guidelines and are up to date in this rapidly changing area of law. He can also guide you and your business through any employment related issues you may have such as if you are considering or seeking to embark upon a business reorganization or if you are experiencing difficulties with any employees.
Shaun is here to help you with:
- Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures
- Working Conditions
- Contracts of Employment
- Equal Pay
- Termination / Settlement Agreements
Shaun Pinchbeck acts for both employers and employees advising on employment law matters. He qualified as a solicitor in 1989 when he joined the firm, becoming a Partner in 1995.

His hourly rate is £195.00 and VAT (£39.00).
In respect of Settlement Agreements, a contribution to the legal costs of the employee is generally made by the employer and costs can range depending on the length and complexity of the Agreement between around £250.00 and VAT (£40.00) and around £750.00 and VAT (£150.00).
With regard to disciplinary and grievance issues, and Employment Tribunal matters, it is important to discuss the precise scenario with Shaun Pinchbeck and to agree an initial upper limit on costs with him because quite often clients simply wish to have advice at various stages of a case and it would be crucial therefore to establish your own wishes in order to give a meaningful figure for you.
